I've often wondered about utting the name of the giveaway in the subject line as well. Not sure if it ever happened, but if there were 2 giveaways going at the same time and someone entered for both by just putting their name in the subject line, they might end up eliminated from both?

the only time we have had multiple giveaways at the same time, we have only required one entry to enter all of them .... like our xmas giveaways.

now .... we often have a "general giveaway" running at the same time as a forum contest/game. the entries for each are directed to different accounts.

so, i think the answer to your question, is that all we ever require for an entry is your name in the subject unless we specify otherwise. adding the contest title in addition to your name is fine. it does nothing for us but if it helps you keep track of what you have entered, then that's fine. if you decide to add something about viagra or interest rates to the subject line, then there is a good chance it will be deleted.

in the end, i delete very few emails from that account ... until it's time to start a new giveaway. i don't really think there is any cause for concern but if there is a doubt, as i said before, i will confirm your entry. i have yet to get this request.

If this is really a big problem, perhaps a solution would be to create a rule for the contest email account so that anything received by that account would send an autoreply stating that the email was received.

Just a thought. Although, perhaps that would annoy people more than it would help.

Its a good idea. Sometimes I don't recall if I've already entered a contest or not and it starts to eat at me.

I wouldn't worry about it annoying anybody. If they want to enter a contest to win something for free from you then they should accept the way things work. Its only a confirmation email - not spam.

It sounds like a good idea for a poll anyway.

I don't mind either way. I think the giveaways are fun and thats enough. If we start going into too much detail about them, some of the fun will go. Whatever TBS decides, change or stay the same, I'll still enter
