Just got through reading Dawn of the Jedi issues 0-5. I have to say I really enjoyed this series, and am looking forward to the next installment.
Set approximately 35,000 years prior to ANH, this deals with some of the beginnings of the Jedi. It does not explain everything, but does create a nice insulated setting to tell a good story. I highly recommend reading issue 0, which was released two weeks prior to issue 1. It briefly explains the setting, including characters, locations, and vehicles. You don't have to read it to understand what is going on, but it really does prepare you for the material. It helped eliminate a lot of the questions that normally bug me when jumping into a new series.
