Mr. Liston performed in a number of television shows during the 1970s and 1980s and appeared in A Bridge Too Far, among other movies, before ending up in The Empire Strikes Back. His most recent credit is in Captain Jack, a super-hero themed story, that had yet to see screen time when I wrote him in 2001.

Ian Liston is known to Star Wars fans for his role as Wes Janson, Wedge’s snowspeeder gunner. His character went on to lead many more adventures in the Star Wars comics and novels. Mr. Liston also played an AT-AT Driver, probably shooting at his alter-ego in a snowspeeder. :p

Star Wars Insider Magazine #32 has an article entitled Rebel Pilot Reunion, which catches up on many of the major pilots.

I spoke with Mr. Liston at Celebration III, and he is happy to sign for his fans, as long as they include a SASE and postage. He will often personalize photos and sometimes writes short notes or answers questions. The address listed below is a newer one that has a couple successful responses to its credit, both taking less than a month.

I am the fool who follows
Looks like Ian is catching up on fanmail.

Today I received both of my photos back signed and personalized. One was a shot of the AT-AT pilot, while the other showed both characters he played.

However, on the dual shot his pen looked like it ran out of ink and scratched the pic a bit. SO...he wrote a nice note on the back of that one apologizing, and then included his OWN version of the same pic - though his was much nicer, glossy photo paper, etc. signed and personalized.

A great success!

Did you send IRC's or cash for the return postage? If cash, how much?

Thanks!

I received a nice success today. I received all 4 photos that I sent signed and personalized to myself. Mr. Liston included a little note as well. Very happy with this success. It took about 2 months, but well worth it!

Looks like Ian is answering some mail, got this one yesterday, it was already signed by Paul Jerrico, and it's already back off to Julian Glover.

Outstanding Success!

I got mail from Mr. Liston today. he signed all 3 CCGs I sent him + signed the card I put in the envelope to stabilize the thing. On top of that, he sent along a nice Wes Picture signed and personalized to me and wrote me a short letter.

What a great guy. You can really see he took his time reading and answering my letter. This is way more I could've ever asked for!

Thank you, Mr. Liston!
