What about a 'side story' which tells of Mauls turn to the dark side and the trials he goes through on the way to becoming apprentice to Sidious?

That leans towards a story where the bad guy wins, but doesn't necessarily have to. Maybe thats too similar to the 'downfall of Anakin' main story? I dunno, I'd just like to see more of Darth Maul.
