Clone Wars actor Ian Abercrombie passes away

Dark Lord of the Typos
Received this news today:

Word is starting to trickle in that actor Ian Abercrombie, who was the voice of Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series passed away yesterday at age 76. While Mr. Abercrombie had a long and distinguished career appearing in movies and television, he will be remembered by Star Wars fans for bringing the spilt-persona charater of the future Emperor of the Galactic Empire to life on the small screen.

No announcement has been made yet by Lucasfilm as to whether or not all of Mr. Abercrombie's dialog for the current season of The Clone Wars has been recorded yet or if any dialog will need to be re-recorded by a new voice actor. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Abercrombie's entire family.
