No one could have expected that three decades later, playing Chewbacca would be a lifetime thing for Peter Mayhew, the man inside that furry Wookiee costume.

But when Mayhew, a British native, is not home with his wife and three daughters back in Fort Worth, he is on the road signing autographs and telling Star Wars tales.
«
The road this weekend is at Walt Disney World where Mayhew, along with another Star Wars cult legend, Jeremy Bulloch (bounty hunter Bubba Fett), are the special guests of the Disney MGM Studios Star Wars Weekends.

“I never thought it would be the blockbuster that it became,” said Mayhew. “Not even George (Lucas) imagined this would happen.”
