Uncle Owen Dead?

It is being reported on Rebelscum that Phil Brown, who played Uncle Owen in the original Star Wars movie, has passed away today at the age of 89.

I cannot find any other info online about this, including checking out his official website at www.philbrown.com, so take this for what it's worth.

I know I met him at Celebration 2 back in 2002, and he did not look especially well back then.

If this is true, goodbye to a SW legend. You will be missed.

It wouldn't surpise me if this was true as he did stop signing through the mail last year as his heath was deteriorating, and his wife was requesting get well cards instead of autograph requests.
