Straight From The Horses's Mouth: Midnight Madness
As we all await 12:00 midnight on April 23 for the release of all the new product for Attack of the Clones, I have some new information on the subject to share with you all. This news comes straight from a good friend at Toys R. Us Corporate Office:
Midnight Madness will indeed take place at Toys R. Us but, not all of their stores will be participating. Only those stores big enough in size to carry all of the new product and with sufficient employees to handle the influx of customers the release of the new merchandise will generate, will be part of it.
Also managers at participating Toys R. Us have been given two options to choose from by their Corporate Office:
OPTION 1) Close for business at regular hours( 9:30 P.M) and then reopen at 12: 00 A.M. This will be a time employees will use to bring out and set up the new product.
OPTION 2) Remain opened from April 22 at 9:30 A. M until 3:00 A. M, April 23. This means product will be put out and displayed while customers are in the store BUT they will not be allowed to purchase it until the clock has hit 12:00 A. M
Either option chosen by a manager will give customers a three hour time frame to actually be able to make their AOTC purchases.
If you are planning on taking pictures of the crowd and toys inside the store, TRU Corporate Office asks to contact them first and ask for a permit and see if you qualify for it. Pictures will not be allowed inside the stores unless you've been given authorization by their Corporate Office
As a note of advice, check with your local Toys R Us store to confirm which of the two options mentioned they will be implementing or whether or not they will be opened for business at Midnight Madness.
