StarWarsShop.com Questions and Answers:
Is the U.S. Fan Club store "The Jawa Trader" being replaced by this store?
[Paul Ens] From the perspective of long-time fans, I guess it would be fair to say this is a replacement, in that the old Fan Club online store hasn't been in existence for a while and this new store will be covering the same bases. However, we're optimistic that fans will recognize it as much more than just a replacement.
What countries will you be able to ship to, or not to, whichever is easier?
[Paul Ens] We're still putting the final touches on precise agreements, but the plan as of today is to be able to ship to these countries at launch: American Samoa, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States of America and Venezuela.
Again, the list is subject to minor changes before launch. There will also be occasional products that will have other shipping restrictions.
There have been hints of exclusive items already, will there be items exclusively available to Hyperspace members?
[Paul Ens] Eventually there will be, but not on opening day.
Will there be any special benefits for Hyperspace members?
[Paul Ens] Absolutely, but these will need to wait for a future announcement.
In the U.S., what states will people have to pay tax if you ship to them?
[Paul Ens] Just California.
Will the U.S. Fan Club still offer some items itself?
[Paul Ens] U.S. Fan Club-sold merchandise has always been case-by-case since the license shifted to Paizo. Look for news in coming months, but StarWarsShop.com will be taking over the handling of most Fan Club exclusive items.
What forms of payment will you accept? (PayPal, for example?)
[Paul Ens] On launch, StarWarsShop.com will accept most major credit cards, as well as offer a method for purchase by money orders payable in U.S. currency.
Will the store sell individual Star Wars figures like Jawa Trader did?
[Paul Ens] Exclusive figures will naturally be sold individually. Basic figures will be sold initially only in case-packs, which has become common online. We're working with Hasbro to evaluate other strategies going forward.
Will you sell only Star Wars related items in the store, or include other LFL properties like Indiana Jones?
[Paul Ens] There is actually going to be one very-cool, never-before-offered Indiana Jones item on the store at launch. You'll have to visit on March 10 to check it out.
Just one last question...
Will you sell Skywalker Ranch wine in the store?
[Paul Ens] We're looking in to it!
