In addition to a new line of Ultimate Quarter Scale Star Wars figures, Diamond Select Toys will be using the Lucas license for a series of sculpted banks. Darth Vader will launch the line, the Dark Lord of the Sith measuring 7 inches tall complete with red lightsaber.

Sculpted by Bill Mancuso, look for this limited collectible bank in the September issue of Previews. Scheduled for an early 2009 release date and a MSRP of $14.99, expect follow up releases featuring the biggest names in the Star Wars universe.

Those look pretty awesome! ;) I've always found it funny that you have to PAY for banks to put money into them, Why can't they be free? Kinda defeats the purpose. :D

Many high street banks do give away "piggy banks" when kids open up their first savings account. :)

One of the banks here in New Zealand has a piggy bank as their mascot and has print and TV advertising (which are probably all over YouTube) that features them using animated 3D graphics. Another bank used to give away elephant money banks because they sponsored an elephant at the Auckland Zoo who was called Kashin ("cash-in"). :)
