That this was a long period of galactic peace and expansion instigated by the invention and advancement of hyperspace travel. In myth, it is believed that about 12-15,000 years ago the Sith Empire was born. A large contingent of Jedi Knights obsessed with the dark side of the Force is expelled from the Old Republic.
