If there was one thing Jar Jar Binks did in The Phantom Menace, it was to a lasting impression on anyone and everyone he ran into on screen and off. Working on The Phantom Menace left an equal impact on Jar Jar's portrayer, Ahmed Best.

Filming The Phantom Menace will always be special for Best, predominately for its newness. "I probably enjoyed more in Episode I, mainly because it was such a new experience for everybody. Once it's done, it's kind of easier and the mystery is a little shaded, but in Episode I, I was so excited to see what it was going to be like, and I don't think that brand-new excitement will ever be there again for anything." Best says, "I was so excited about what Jar Jar was going to look like, how he was going to move, how he was going to be completed, and now I pretty much know that. I still love playing the character,
just the nuance, and the discovery of him."
