Star Wars items by Sigma are among my favorite things to collect. Their wide range of (mostly ceramic) household items can be quite challenging to collect, not only due to rarity, but to the fragile nature of ceramics. Some of the items, like the bisque figures and ceramic mugs, are quite common. Other items like frames, teapots, and cookie jars can be much more difficult to find. Somewhere in the middle lies this set of vinyl placemats.

Sigma produced this set of four placemats, featuring colorful artwork, as part of their Empire Strikes Back line. The artwork matched a set of four coffee cups, and a plate/bowl/mug set they also released at the same time. The placemats came in a blue cardboard box, that is likely to be missing if the placemats were ever used.

I find the designs to be very appealing, and the artwork is unique among vintage collectibles. I was suprised the other day to see that the Boba Fett/Chewbacca artwork is now available on a baseball cap, currently available at Spencers stores.
