Dark Lord of the Typos
There have been numerous spoofs, parodies, and homages to the classic Star Wars movie posters. Perhaps the first homage ever done was in the 1977 comic book Spidey Super Stories. The cover of issue number 31 features Spider-Man, Moondragon, and Doctor Doom in a recreation of the familiar movie poster.
This comic series, produced in conjunction with The Electric Company, contained easy to read fun stories for younger readers. This issue features Doctor Doom and his Death Star-like "Star Jaws" space station in a plot to swallow the Earth whole. Spider-Man, Moondragon, and Marvel Boy team up to save the day. It's fun 70's camp.
