Anyone here going? It isn't too far from me. Don't know if I could get the time off.

WC,

I've gone to several of these, and believe me, they're a waste of time. The price to get in is way too much for what is offered.

Virtually all of the autographees sit in a section and people line up to get an autograph. None of them speak to the attendees except for the one or two stars that have the special one-day only lecture. If you are dying to see Elijah Wood, then maybe that is worth it, but just to have the experience I'd suggest you don't bother.

The dealer tables are pretty useless too. 90% of them have common stuff, and the few that have anything interesting are charging uber-scalper prices.

It's also a mixed convention that includes comics and anime as well - those two are usually slightly better for fans of those. Sci-fi is relegated to an afterthought.

However, WC, if you do decide to come up here, I'm about an hour away. Let me know, and perhaps we can hook up and I can show you around Toronto.
