No, we couldn't just take it for granted ...
Tuesday February 24, 2004 was a dark day for the online Star Wars community: Artoosnews.com would close down forever at midnight precisely.
Many of us experienced the demise of Artoosnews.com as a ripple through the Force. It was like a thousand voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced ...
In the meantime, most of the former R2N visitors made their way to other sites and forums. Next to that, we were happy to see that some of the great features R2N had hosted came back on-line on other sites. I, for one, was very relieved to see that Pete, Mike and Chuck picked up the work on the Visual Guides on a new site, the Jedi Temple Archives.
But there was more, far more ...
And so BeJedi.com tried to do its part to keep the fond memories about R2N alive. We took contact with the late R2N Customs Master, Shannon, and received permission from him to host the art work that was previously featured on the Artoo's Customs section on BeJedi.com.
We are very happy to announce that from today all of these customs are migrated to our Custom Galleries, which can be found in our Customs pages and then by selecting the Galleries link in there.
If your customs could be seen previously at R2N, they can now be seen again here. If you now suddenly find that you have a Gallery here, please understand that it was impossible for us to contact each and every customiser individually to ask permission whether or not we could feature his or her customs. If, for some reason, you would therefore like to remove your customs from our Galleries, contact
BarbarianJ@BeJedi.com to make that known.
But we are sure that you should instead enjoy the hospitality of BeJedi.com and add your recent works to your BJ.c Gallery.
Moreover, if you are a customiser but weren't previously on R2N, you can also get your own Gallery with us.
