A new online shop
11/29/01
</CENTER>
A reader by the name of Brian sends in the following info...

"I just opened one of those prefab online stores for lack of something
better to do in between POTJ waves and was interested to find that there
are what look to be loose vintage figures for sale. They are either the
real thing or re-issues as it says that some of them come in Kenner
baggies. Anyway, if anyone wants to check it out, the site is:

The Big Deal

When you get there do a product search for Star Wars and this particular
set will come up with about 5 other things. MTFBWY and happy hunting!"

I checked the site out and the figures are the Vintage and not re-issues. Not much in the way of Star Wars, but you may find something that you like.

Fan Club Exclusive Stormtrooper??
11/28/01
</CENTER>
That is what Collect Star Wars is reporting. According to CSW it will be a 2nd quarter 2002 release, most likely in May. It will also be packaged in a white mailer box like previous Fan Club exclusives.
If this holds true that would certainly sit well with all of the army builders out there. To me though it doesn't seem to make too much sense considering that E2 is right around the corner and you would THINK that the Fan Club and Hasbro would be offering something from the upcoming movie as opposed to another Stormtrooper. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

The Phantom Menace Rating Results
11/26/01
</CENTER>
TBS reader Todd sends in the following info....

"Fox was the primetime master on Sunday as its world TV premiere airing of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" blew away the competition on the final Sunday of the November sweep. Fox's 7-10 p.m. airing of "Phantom Menace" averaged 17.6 million viewers and 7.9 rating/18 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. Fox won the night in adults 18-34, teens and other key young demos. "Phantom Menace" opened up with a solid 14.4 million viewers and 6.4/17 in the demo at 7 p.m., peaking from 9-9:30 p.m. with 19.4 million viewers and 8.7/19 in adults 18-49."

Thanks for the news Todd. That is surely good news for us fans. When a movie that has been seen by so many people still manages to rake in 17.6 million viewers that is a good sign for the appeal of Star Wars.

R2-D2 on Fox NFL Pre-Game
11/25/01
</CENTER>
I just caught our favorite astromech droid on FOX. It was the segment where Jimmy picks his weekly picks. It was about 2 or 3 minutes tops and features Artoo providing all the whistles and beeps that we have come to love over the years. Artoo than proceeds to send a holo transmission and another of the announcers was dressed like Princess Leia. Of course they had to give the mandatory "May The Force Be With You". All of this was done to promote the broadcast premier of The Phantom Menace tonight on FOX. Don't forget about the mockumentary featuring R2-D2 as well.

<CENTER>Playskool Star Wars All In One Adventure Line
11/24/01
</CENTER>
After many rumors and much anticipation this line has been officially announced by Playskool/Hasbro. They have placed information regarding this line on the Playskool site which you can view by clicking here. You will see that they have two listings minus images. Here is the information that can be found on the site.
Stompin' Wampa & Fast In The Forest Assortment:
SKU# 2645
SRP: $7.99
Deul with Darth Maul & X-Wing Adventure Assortment:
SKU# 2651
SRP: $14.99
According to Collect Star Wars there is a line for each of the movies. That sounds correct as the above listings reflect that. Here is what each movie line should consist of according to CSW.
A New Hope: X-Wing Fighter, X-Wing Luke, Darth Vader, and R2-D2
The Empire Strikes Back: Wampa, Hoth Han, Hoth Luke and Tauntaun
Return Of The Jedi: Luke with Speederbike, Scout Trooper with Speederbike, and Wicket
The Phantom Menace: Naboo Fighter, Anakin, Darth Maul, Obi-Wan, and Battle Droid
These sets look very cool...and cute. They are sort of similar in appearance to the Palm Talkers. More info should be available shortly.

Celebration 2 Figure Revealed??
11/22/01
</CENTER>
What could the mystery figure possibly be? Well I have received an e-mail from an informant who goes by the name of Cool Hand Luke. He assures that he has been informed by an inside source that this mystery figure will be none other than........................a 3 3/4" version of the creator of Star Wars, Mr. George Lucas! WOW! How cool would that be? For now, we will have to take this with a grain of salt until we can get some more information. I, for one, hope that this turns out to be true.
Thanks CHL for the info.

Updated Databanks At Star Wars.com
11/21/01
</CENTER>
Star Wars has updated their databanks to feature new info on your favorite characters as well as some new surprises. Here is a blurb from their site. "Ten years after the events chronicled in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, the epic saga continues in Episode II. The galaxy is in turmoil. Thousands of solar systems are threatening to secede from the Galactic Republic under the leadership of a charismatic separatist. Without a standing army of the Republic, the overwhelmed Jedi Knights struggle to maintain order as the very foundation of peace and democracy is in jeopardy". Very cool stuff and as always, if you are trying to avoid spoilers you might not want to visit. You can click here to visit the databanks.

Star Wars Fact Files
11/20/01
</CENTER>
Pete over at The Private Universe has passed along some cool info.

"I am currently organising interviews with the team behind the DeAgostini Star Wars Fact Files, and YOU get the chance to ask YOUR questions.

The interviews will be with Marcus (editor of Fact Files, former editor of Titan's Star Wars Magazine, former editor of Dr. Who Magazine at Marvel, and co-founder of publishers Reynolds & Hearn), James (the designer on the Fact Files) and TPU's long standing friend Iain (writer for the Fact Files).

For the record, none of them have anything to do with distribution, as you know this has been a major issue with the trial releases of the magazine.

This is another great opportunity exclusive to TPU you shouldn't pass up. If you have any questions please forward them to myself and I compile them for the interview."

This is a great opportunity for everyone to have some of your questions answered. Stop by TPU and check out the good things they have going on over there.

Ishi Tib sends in this report:

Here is another interesting fact about the new wave of figures that's about to hit retail (including the FX-7 Medical Droid). Besides the fact that this is the first wave of figures not including the force file, the back of the cards sports a new logo design for the fan club: A pair of hands holding up a lightsaber and the words "Star Wars." This will be the logo which will replace the familiar Vader's Helmet starting next year when the Power of the Jedi line will officially become "Star Wars" (unifying the trilogy and the prequels).

25th Anniversary 2-Pack UPC Numbers
11/08/01
</CENTER>
RebelScum is reporting the UPC numbers for the upcoming 25th Anniversary 2-Packs. These are supposedly from the Wal-Mart computer system.

Luke & Leia $14.97 - UPC# 76930 84668
Han & Chewie $14.97 - UPC# 76930 84669
Obi-Wan & Vader $14.97 - UPC# 76930 84671

The only problem I have with this is that I was always under the impression that UPC numbers consisted of twelve digits. It is possible that these may be item numbers as opposed to UPC. Either way be on the look out for these hot new items.

Eeth Koth & Zutton Pics
11/07/01
</CENTER>
Collect Star Wars has carded front and back pics of the upcoming duo from the POTJ line. Both figures look darn good. I am interested in getting a hands on with the new style lightsaber that will come with the Jedi Eeth Koth. Also, the Snaggletooth Zutton is sporting some very interesting articulation. <CENTER>___________________________________

Upcoming POTJ Packaging Update
11/07/01
</CENTER>
The Hasbro Star Wars site has a nice little article up where they discuss the new packaging change on the POTJ line. Here is the full statement.
"The upcoming Power of the Jedi™ wave including FX-7™, the Rebel Trooper™, Queen Amidala™ Royal Decoy, and the Imperial Officer™ will feature a slightly revised package look. As we transition into the new blue packaging, we have phased out the Jedi Force Files while still highlighting a character-specific movie photo on the front of the package. The back of the package is unique to each figure and features another movie photo, a character-specific bio, and pictures of other figures within the same wave. Check back soon for pictures of the upcoming POTJ figures".
So the Force Files are officially gone. Does this mean we can expect a price drop now? To read the statement and view a carded pic of FX-7 click here.
