Dark Lord of the Typos
Our next collectible is the 9" Talking plush Cantina Band Member by Underground Toys. From the second series of 9" plush dolls, this has seen limited release so far. I ordered this one as a UK import, and you can see the warning sticker added to the top right corner. This is a cool plush interpretation of a Cantina Band Member, whose instument suggests it is Figrin D'an. When squeezed, it plays one clip of the Cantina Theme from A New Hope.
Other plush solicited with this one include a Jawa, Wicket (possibly non-talking), Princess Leia, Boba Fett, and Darth Maul. Just last week I saw Maul at a Toys R Us.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the deformed plushies made by Underground Toys or Comic Images, but every so often they have a winner. This one I couldn't pass up.
A plush Figrin D'an was previously available in Kenner's plush Buddies line in 1998.
