X-Wing Series tv show

I've been wondering this for a while, but why don't they make a the X-Wing series into a t.v. show? The books seem pretty popular, and it would give a new perspective on the movies that some don't have.

X-Wing would make a great series. For that matter, there are at least a dozen other SW series that would be cool to explore in TV format, encompassing a wide range of time periods. Since Lucas is just now venturing into teh TV field, who knows what we'll end up with down the road. For now, I'll be happy with any well written, quality produced show. I've throughly enjoyed the Clone Wars cartoons, and hope any future series (live action or otherwise) are done equally as well.
