From Gizmodo – the Gadget Guide ...
With those "ears" it obviously should have been an Ewok drive.
Cool! A little out of my price range though.
It looks like a repaint hence the "ears". Still it looks cool.
If they make a clone or stormie, I will have to find the money for this.
But then you'd need a ton of money so you can make an army of drive-troopers.
Highlander - "There can be only one" ...
at least at that price.
US$80 for 1GB is over the top pricing - basically you're paying a premium for the Star Wars connection.
Even here in New Zealand with it's over-pricing, I can get most 1GB Flash drives for around US$25 ... there's even one brand I know of that's only US$19.
Yeah, it's a repaint of these;
ANother cash in on the Star Wars name. Looks stupid with the ears personally.
According to that website, Vader is just the first in a set and the first series of drives. For you money you also get "Star Wars content" pre-loaded onto them, whatever that may be (one website says "including trailers, soundbites, avatars, and more!").
There's also a competition link there where you guess what the next three characters will be and be in to win a full set of the four drives. Good luck!
Massively overpriced and those ears are just plain wrong. Big pass on these from me at least.
Mimoco has announced the next USB Flash drive in their Star Wars collection ...
Maybe the "ear-haters" will prefer them on this one.
They've also started round two of the competition.
The 'ears' will look best on the ewok one I think
A Stormtrooper joins the list ... only one more to go in this first set.
Don't forget to enter the last round of the competition.
Not sure its a competition I'd like to win, all things considered. Those ears are ssooooo wrong its not funny. Nice idea, very poorly carried out imho.
The shape is basically the trademark of the Mimoco company - all their USB flash drives are the same shape with mostly just the paint job being different.
Sony make some USB flash drives that are just the inside circuit board, so you could make your own even more "limited edition" versions using Lego Minifigs or similar.
And R2-D2 is the final drive in the first set is announced ...
("ear" haters avert your eyes now )
The second series of these Mimobot Flash Drives is now taking pre-orders. This time we get ...
Unfortunately they're at the same over-bloated prices.
If you're insterested, go to the Mimobot website.
(There's also a special Halo version.)
The Boba Fett one looks pretty neat. But there still out of my price Range. I also noticed they took the "Ears" of this series too! Well everyone except Leia, They just stuck them on the side of her head to make her classic Star Wars Hair-doo
I'm not sure about Boba Fett, but on the Luke one when you remove this pilot's helmet his "face" goes with it and you instead get his helmetless face on the Flash drive's main part. Boba Fett looks like he might be similar.
This image explains it better ...
Cool! Now I'm curious what the Boba Fett face would look like. Temuera Morrison? That is, if the helmet comes off like the Luke Skywalker one.
