TIE Interceptor, why bother?

Have any of you here actually opened your TIE interceptor?

It's embarrassing! First off, Hasbro hoists off this cheap remold. I am tired of TIEs with the improper thruster in the back, not to mention that Interceptors have 4 blasters mounted on the wings, yet besides those this toy has the standard 2 mounted on the ball cockpit.

Secondly, the figure is gawd awful! The Imperial insignias on the sleeves and helmet are pitiful when compared to the original POTF TIE pilot and Death Star Gunner. His knees bend! Well spiffy, but due to the style of the cockpit, why bother? His legs being straight or articulated do not matter. And then he of course has a club foot! That's right, his left foot is short and about half the size of his right one. Gee, thanks guys for trying to give the pilot an articulated neck instead he looks more like a head bobber toy.

So much for a "unique" pilot. How about next time giving us a Baron Fel figure, or better yet since Galoob and Lego have done it a George Lucas pilot?

I will have to agree with you for the most part. Being an opener I of course ripped it right out instantly. I believe the B-Wing is a much better ship in all aspects. The TIE Pilot is an insult!
I do like the TIE Interceptor however. It is a little above average but there is something about the TIE Interceptor that I find interesting. Hopefully the next vehicles prove to be better.

Stupid "Interceptor"

Actually the cockpit, if you look underneath, it is the cockpit from the 1995 TIE Fighter (regular) and the wings, are the wings remolded to fit the 1995 one, but are actally from 1983!! and the only new thing about the pilot is the legs, thats it.

I copy that! Ouch, glad I'm not an opener. For what I paid for it, Tie Interceptor looks beautiful in the box. :toed:

I like mine! The pilot is a different story. Somebody broke his neck so now his head rattles inside the helmet! Everytime I move the guy his helmet is wabbling like it is about to roll right off.

As far as the Interceptor itself, I don't have much of a problem with it. Yes it could have been better and more accurate but overall I like it. It is definitely better than the TIE Fighter and Vader's TIM in my opinion.
The Pilot is a piece of plastic poo-doo. Really pathetic. It is probably the worst figure PERIOD!

AGREED!!! Maybe it was one of the clones that just didn't cut it?

Way to go Hasbro! Did they really think they could get that sculpt past the collectors?:hurl:
