Star Wars Galaxy Magazine premiered in Fall 1994 with a comic-sized format. Available in comic shops, it featured news, especially related to collecting, gaming, and fiction. It included comic shorts that were later reprinted as Dark Horse Comics one-shots. Published by TOPPS, issues usually came with Star Wars Trading card promos or other unique SW cards exclusive to the issue. posters often came bagged or stapled to the issues featuring artwork and information. This format lasted for 13 issues, concluding in late 1997. In 1998, they changed format and printed a magazine-sized special: The Official Guide to Star Wars Toys. Following this, the magazine stayed magazine-sized, and changed its title to Star Wars Galaxy Collector. The magazine now focused more on Collecting, with frequent article contributions by Steve Sansweet. Most issues also included a double-sided poster, featuring new products, or reprinting vintage posters. This series ran for 8 issues and ended in 1999.
