Like many out there, after hearing the news about the release of three Star Tours figures, exclusive to the Disney's Theme Parks, I headed up north, taking the long 4 hour drive from Miami to Orlando. In my pocket a huge list of request from different collectors wanting the exclusives and in my wallet a credit card willing to take a big hit once I would find the figures...

To avoid anymore confusion by those who seem to know it all, THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE AMOUNT YOU CAN BUY...you can buy the entire peg wall if you wish and...yes, there is an error with R3-D3 and I have posted detailed pictures of it as well. Now remember where you saw it first!

Here is the story

There are two places, at least here in Florida selling the three droids; the places are:

<CENTER>ONCE UPON A TOY</CENTER>

This toy store newly opened is located in Disney's Downtown. There is free parking and plenty of it. There is no admission, no fees to pay to get into the place.

Downtown Disney is nothing more than a huge shopping mall where you can find an incredible array of restaurants, such as Gloria Estefan's "Bongo's" and the famous "Planet Hollywood" where Sylvester Stallone and big Arnold are the CO-owners among other Hollywood celebrities. Downtown Disney offers as well "Pleasure Island" a composition of five different nightclubs each one with a unique music style, going from country, to hip hop, to hard-heavy-alternative rock.

The Lego store, for those of you into collecting Star Wars Legos, is a dream come true at Downtown Disney. Unique and exclusive Lego sculptures such as Darth Maul's life-size head, can be purchased there. Pens and key chains created using Lego pieces and dealing with Star Wars are in abundance and there is even an outside playground for kids to run and play around with lifesize Lego sculptures as well as building tables were Lego pieces are free to use.

Five stores down from the Lego store, on the East side of the mall, you will find "Once Upon a Toy" Those of you who liked the incredibly computer animated "Toy Story" flick, will be delighted seeing two life-size replicas of Mr. Potato Head and Buzz Lightyear, greeting you at the entrance. Inside you will find the Potato Head factory, where you can build your own Mr. Potato using an amazing amount of different parts and styles available.

Further in, towards the center of the store, the Star Wars section awaits you. Nicely set up with different display cases and a series of exclusives, I thought they would not have. There, the exclusive Toys R Us X-wing with R2-D2 was available and in big numbers, although retailing for $50.00, a total of $10.00 more than Toys R Us price. The Fan Club exclusive 12" sculpt of Ki-Adi Mundi was also in stock, with over 10 of them on the shelves and selling for $28.00. The 7" vinyl figures of Jango Fett and Mace Windu were there also and of course, the main reason of my trip, the 3 3/4" Star Tours droids covered and entire peg wall with plenty to be had and yes!!!, NO LIMIT ON THE AMOUNT OF DROIDS; buy as many as you like :) That is why, everyone out there who requested a set from me got it; I ended up buying 19 SETS! at $10.00 a figure...you do the math

<CENTER>DISNEY- MGM STUDIOS</CENTER>

A day at the Disney- MGM Studios is like being part of a Comedy-Thriller-Action-Adventure. There you can ride rides, see shows, share 3-D guffaws and stunt awes. It is like the very best of showbiz.

Located only 10 minutes away from Downtown Disney, MGM studios will definitely cost you to get in. The admission fee is $50.00 for a one day pass. But if the amount is not a problem for you, surely you'll love what awaits inside.

The Indiana Jones ride is, to say the least, incredible. You can even become an extra and be part of a series of three different action-packed scenes amazingly recreated right before your eyes in a three stage set. Once you have finished seeing the show, stop by the Indy store where you can purchase a variety of items from the famous Indy hat to the exclusive 3 3/4" figure of the character which includes his torch, gun, whip and sword. The price, just $8.00 for the figure.

About half a block down from the Indiana Jones Spectacular, you will be in awe once you see the incredible life-size replica of the AT-AT vehicle. This view is right at the entrance of the Star Tours ride.

The building housing the tour is an exact representation of an Ewok Village, where even a real life size speeder bike is showcased and you can even ride it.

Star Tours is the ultimate Star Wars thrill ride. A moving C-3PO will greet you right before you board a Star Speeder vehicle, nothing more than a light-speed trip to the Death Star Space Station. Along the wait you will be able to see all of the droids recently turned into plastic and exclusive to the park. An amazing view as you truly feel you are being part of a Star Wars film.

Once you exit the ride, the hallway will lead you right inside the Star Tours store and you will be surrounded with nothing more than Star Wars merchandise. The building where the store is located was built in the shape of typical Tatooine moisture farm, even some moisture vaporators can be found outside of the premises. Shirts, mugs, pencils, posters, key chains, magnets and anything you can think of relating to the films fill the place up.

There, against the wall, the exclusive figures of the three droids can be found. Surprisingly they did not have as many as Once Upon a Toy had but still you could had grabbed them by the bunch.

<CENTER>THE DROIDS</CENTER>

The three droids released as a first wave for what we were told will become a line on its own are:

<CENTER>R3-D3</CENTER>

The real size droid can be seen as you follow the line which takes you inside the Star Speeder. It has been nicely recreated for the action figure. Its body is the same one as the one used for POTJ's R2 with wheels under its three legs and spoke-like pegs at the shoulders. His dome is clear a see-through piece highlighted in red and blue, just like the droid at the Tours, resembling very much that of R3-T7 but with a more protruding eye and colorful "wires" inside.

<CENTER>ARTICULATION</CENTER>

The figure presents movement at the dome and shoulders. Arthree's feet do not have movement and the third and center leg is not retractable.

<CENTER>G2-4T</CENTER>

This droid can also be seen while you wait in line to board the Star Speeder. First he is seen (with blue markings on him) repairing another droid and moving around while doing so. As you get closer to take the ride the red version of it, the one turned into plastic, stands behind some controls and recites a few phrases while his head and arms move.

G2-4T has been sculpted with grace, showing all the details such as wires and writings the original life-size one has.

<CENTER>ARTICULATION</CENTER>

Out of the three droids, G2 is the one with the most moving parts, presenting articulation at the neck, shoulders, waist line, hips and feet. The figure does not have any peg holes under its feet.

<CENTER>RX-24 "REX"</CENTER>

Last, is captain Rex. The droid is the captain of the Star Speeder and he can be seen once aboard the ship which will take you on the action packed tour.

Again, another beautifully made sculpt and very exact to the likeness of the character. Its the biggest of the three droids and its rounded shape and flip up clear dark blue visor make the figure really stand out.

<CENTER>ARTICULATION</CENTER>

Rex is articulated at the neck, lower and upper part of its waistline. Its left and right arms move at the shoulders, while the one on its back, located at waist line level, moves at its point of entry in the body.

<CENTER>PACKAGING
FRONT OF THE CARD
</CENTER>

The figures are packed in POTJ cards, with a picture on the side next to the blister. Those of you who haven't gotten these figures yet, they do not have a force file included and no description of the characters have been given, other than their names. The lower left corner of the front of the card shows a green Mickey mouse icon with the words "ages 4+" inside, printed in yellow. The blister presents and indented triangular shape at its bottom and within it, a black sticker has been affixed with the Star Tours logo on it.

<CENTER>PACKAGING
BACK OF THE CARD
</CENTER>

The top left corner of the card, right next to the peg hook opening, has a green Mickey icon with the words "ages 4+" printed on it. The top right corner of the card has the Star Tours logo placed in front of the known yellow and green starburst design. At the center of the card, a faded picture of the Star Speeder has been placed . An R2 unit can be seen coming up from the top of the vehicle. To the left of the picture C-3PO stands behind some controls.

There is writing to the right center of the card which reads:

The left lower corner of the cards show a gold icon of the Disney castle and below it, a black and white price sticker has been affixed reflecting the price of the figure and showing a black shape of Mickey's head.

<CENTER>R3-D3 "UNPLUGGED"
ERROR CARD
</CENTER>

This error which no one has talked about yet, deals with R3-D3's dome and the position of the wires inside. Just keep in mind you read about it and saw it here at our site first.

The most common cards have R3-D3's eye plugged in the back by an orange wire, while a gray wire wraps next to it behind the red square on its dome.

The error cards have R3-D3's eye plugged in the back by the gray wire, while the orange one hangs loose inside the dome.

Common card stamped numbers: 21091
Error card stamped numbers: 21331

Out of tens of cards I checked, I spotted the error in only three of them, making it as you can imagine very hard to find. This variation/error has been added to our visual "Variations guide" and will soon be added to our written guide.

Now take a look at the pictures that follow, showing you some views of the parks and the Star Tours. Also, detailed pictures of the three droids and last but not least the error card with R3-D3. Enjoy!

Thanks for the awesome pics! I'm happy to finally see the playskool falcon in a store, and I've never seen the Star Tours ride. Those are very cool, great job.
