Collectible of the Day 269 - Embossed Valentine's Tins

It's January, time to celebrate Valentine's Day, right? Today's item is a pair of new heart shaped tins by Galerie, now available at Target. The pair measure approximately 7 inches across, feature artwork from vintage Marvel comic book covers, and contain a whopping 8 strawberry lollipops inside each tin. The sides of the tins have comic covers all over them, which many fans will recognize as the same pattern that became available as a fabric this past year. While the contents aren't impressive, the tins themselves definitely have a cool factor going on. The price is right too, at only $3.99 each.

Target has a smaller Star Wars Valentine's selection this year, but is offering a couple different Valentine's card sets, larger heart shaped boxes with a LED light gimmick, plush Vader and Stormtroopers holding roses, goblets, lightsaber candy, and a larger play pack (containing velvet art to color and stickers).

No tins down here that I've seen, but this card was advertised in today's junk mail ...

Neat. Haven't seen anything like that up here...although I haven't really had a chance to look for individual cards yet.

If you really want one of those cards, I actually "borrowed" that image from Amazon.com and there was a smaller image at MarksandSpencer.com, so it is available in America (or maybe was in previous years since we always get things later down here).
