Collectible of the Day 145 - Star Wars Squeeze Meez

These collectible new pen toppers appeared this week at Target, in the trading card section by the checklanes. Star Wars Squeeze Meez...collectible rubber pen toppers...are so far available only as Clone Trooper helmets.

​

They come blister carded as 4-packs, and four different numbered sets are available. They are made by Bulls I Toy, and retail for $3.99. Each pack contains three visible helmets packed in clear balls, and one mystery helmet packed in a blue ball.

​

These Squeeze Meez are similar in size and packaging style to Squinkies, which seem to be the inspiration for the new Battle Pods soon to be hitting pegs at retailers everywhere.

Overall, these make for a fun small collection. The paint quality is a little lacking, as you can see a lot of details are out of alignment. They are almost the same size as action figure helmets, so they do have some diorama decorating potential. They are too rubbery to be of any use for customizing though.

Oh no! Yet another collectible to look out for.

At least the "mystery" one in each pack may not be actually random. I don't understand why companies bother to do that (other than pure greed when they are random) - it just annoys collectors and probably puts some people off buying them at all.
