Today’s collectible is the new Geonosis camouflage AT-RT with ARF Trooper Boil. It has begun showing up at retailers across the country. The All Terrain Recon Transport, or AT-RT, has now seen five renditions since it initial ROTS release. The original three were all battery operated walkers, akin to wind-up toys. They were a fun gimmick, but sacrificed sculpt accuracy and poseability. Last year, a new sculpt was released in the Deluxe Figure and Vehicle line, featuring new poseable legs, and a more accurate sculpt. Rather hard to find, it has now been released again in a cool new Geonosian camouflage deco, as seen in Season 2 of The Clone Wars.

The walker legs are jointed at the foot and the hip. The blaster cannon pivots up and down, as well as left or right. The handle bars are also moveable. The deco includes some flair, with the Aurebesh letters spelling “Bug Stomper”, emblazoned on either side of the front armor. The Letters “O” and “E” also appear beneath the seat.

Also of note is the ARF Trooper pilot, Boil. Boil first appeared in Season 1 of The Clone Wars, in the Ryloth episodes. Boil, along with fellow Clone Trooper Waxer, rescued a young Twi’lek girl named Numa. By Season 2, Boil has become an ARF Trooper, and has a caricature of Numa’s face painted on the side of his helmet.

The new paint deco and articulation make this figure and vehicle one of my favorite releases in the animated line-up. It’s a marked improvement over previous releases. If you see it in a store, be sure to take a moment to check it out.
