Bossk mini-bust review

Nightwing

New Recruit
The bust of the Trandoshian bounty hunter is by far, the best product that gentle Giant have released to date.

The detail is fascinating. You look at his arms: The scales are amazing; the paintwork that has gone into this is really one that has to be seen to be appreciated.

His lower jaw is actually separately attached just so that they cay can get all the painted detail inside his mouth. Great detail on the teeth as well.

The rifle seems to not be attached to the bust but rather lie in a fixed position between his two hands. It also has a leather strap.

There are a few weak points on the bust. The major one is the tube at the front of his costume, bust this is sort of countered by being protected by the rifle covering the majority of it. Still, the tube is only 2 or 3 mm wide and could easily snap if any pressure were applied to it by say, a thumb. There is another cable/wire around his right shoulder, but this is not so widely exposed. The other weak point is not so big, but I have noticed that the tube that runs to his back can wobble. So if it was to accidentally fall, that might break.

New Recruit
The new window box packaging is brilliant! Every time Gentle Giant make a change to their packaging, it gets better. First there was the rather basic flat boxes of the original busts. Then it went to a more fancy bigger box with pictures all around of the bust. Now, you can actually see the bust. There is also an image of the character on the right. Left and right of the box are images of the bust, with the back of the box featuring a clip from one of the films featuring the character that the bust is modelled after. In this case, it was all the Bounty Hunters lined up on the Executor.

The new style of certificate of authenticity is a neat idea: basically, it looks just like a trading card (same size). One side features an image of the said bust. The other lists all the details as well as the hand-written number of your bust
With the bright colours of Bossk’s costume – and the fantastic costume that it is – add that to the great pose and you have an awesome bust that belongs in any Star Wars collector’s collection!
