There have been several reports in our own forums, as well as other sites, that the AOTC preview figs have been spotted in Toys R Us stores and occasionally in Wal-Marts across the country. The typical price seems to be $11.99 at TRU, and $8.97 at Wal-Mart. While that would make it seem obvious which store to do your hunting in, an email to AmShak from bothan spy Steve, from Uxbridge, Ontario, throws a big question mark into this. The following is an excerpt from that email:
"i was sw shopping today at Markville mall in
Markham. TRU had Zam Wessell and R2 $7.98, 25th
anniversary $24.99. i have noticed lately that
some of the canadian stores are getting
american packaging, as with the case of the
preview figs. "
It seems like at least one TRU has put out their preview figs at the POTJ discounted price! Also, it looks like not all stores are receiving the Canadian tri-logo packaging, although I'm willing to bet these are exchanged figures from someone who found ones in better condition at retail. If anyone else can confirm the cheap price at TRU, or sees more US packaged figures at Canadian retail, email me here.
