Hogwarts ... made from matchsticks!!!

Someone has built a scale model of Harry Potter's Hogwarts using matchsticks!!

It's not quite finished (due to be finished in December 2006), but when completed will contain over a half-million matchsticks held together with 15 gallons of wood glue and will have taken nearly three years to build.

Here's one image, and there's more at the link above (it's a little slow for dial-up users).

There is no time for Quidditch!*
So many matchsticks!* So little time!

There's also lots of other amazing matchstick models on the main Matchstick Marvels website in "The Models" section (a list and some pictures, with a link to more pictures at the bottom) ... alas, no Star Wars ones, although Star Trek's Enterprise is listed (no picture though).

:)

Why?!?!?

It's his job as well as probably a hobby. He runs a museum of models oand sells them to other people. It's no different to a painter, sculpter, etc. and is arguably MUCH more useful than any of the "modern art" rubbish some people make and sell.

Besides, he's not hurting anyone else or trying to force anyone to visit his museum, so he's allowed to do whatever he wants.

No doubt you do things he would think were rather silly as well.
